another great network for interfaith peacemaking: the Bridge-Builders

A School in Atlanta, a Testing Ground for Attitudes on Immigration

The New York Times recently published a heart-warming article about a community school in Atlanta with a large refugee population. Many of the refugee children have experienced trauma, and need to deal with the aftermath of that, as well as language and culture-adjustment challenges. Teaching Respect

This morning I sat in silence again with Quakers. Usually the children are quiet too--a considerable discipline for such wee folk. But this morning one little boy, two years old or so, began to kick the bench and laugh. I wondered what the meeting would do. Would a parent carry him off?
